STEEL SCALE BREASTPLATE

Using either a leather base or a 4-in-1 chain mail weave, steels scales offer great protection.  Weighing 20 – 30 pounds for a vest alone, this armor isn’t for a weak warrior.

LEATHER SCALE BREASTPLATE

With a thick leather shell, leather scales offer the same great look that steel scales have but at a fraction of the weight. 

ELFISH BREASTPLATE

With a slight fantasy flare, this breastplate can be made in a dozen color combinations and with an optional split below the ribcage for extra movement.

STEEL STUDDED BREASTPLATE

Combining a carved & tooled pattern with metal accents, this breastplate has a brigandine look but with solid coverage for the chest.

MUSCLE BREASTPLATE

Other techniques can be employed to achieve shape and depth as shown in this muscle breastplate. Stretching and forming the leather adds dimension that can not be achieved with tooling alone.  Shown is a basic muscle breastplate (on the right) and one with carved and tooled designs (on the left).

STEEL & LEATHER BREASTPLATE

Balancing maximum protection with the greatest flexibility is the chore of any decent armorer.  This can be achieved with a steel plate and leather combo.  Show in a stainless steel and dark brown leather breastplate.  Also shown is a matching scale skirt and helmet.

LEATHER BRIGANDINE

With thick plates of leather riveted to a thinner base this Brigandine has a handsome look that allows for maximum movement and offers good protection.
