Calimacil Construction

TIP: Both ends of the weapons cores are covered with a 0.47in to 0.63in of foam.

Core: The foam covers entirely the core with a minimal thickness of 0.047in.

Blade:  The bubbles inside the foam measure less than 0.197in diameter. The foam is fused to the core so the blade won’t turn around it.

Foam density: Hard enough to press with two fingers without touching the core, soft enough to sustain a hit without feeling pain.

Handle: bound to the core. The pommel can turn slightly, but the handle remains bound to the core.

Pommel: most are soft; some models have harder pommels, ex: katana.

Foam Memory (how much the mass can remain marked following crushing): on a complete crushing of the blade momentarily with the hand, the foam should take 95% of its shape in less than 5 sec; on a long lasting crush, example, a case left all day on a blade, the sword should take its shape in less than one day.

The weapons that won't present these features can be replaced to the discretion of Calimacil by a new or reconditioned weapon. All replacement will require a visual inspection by a Calimacil representative.

Hybrid Core weapons (designated as “Bastard H, Katana H, etc.” on the price list) feature a carbon-fiber and fiberglass core that have absolutely NO whip effect.  They are recommended for the experienced swordsmen or those who want a more realistic experience.  All two-handed swords feature a Hybrid Core to eliminate the whip effect that longer weapons produce.

Weapons used for commercial uses are NOT guaranteed (By commercial uses Calimacil refers to any organization that makes an intensive use of the product. Ex.: summer camps, schools, etc…)
