F.A.Q.’s
Q: Why should I choose leather armor instead of
steel? Isn’t steel better?
A: No doubt about it…steel offers better
protection. But anyone who has worn a
steel breastplate for an hour knows that even though it may only weigh 25 lbs.,
it can start to feel like a wrecking ball is attached to your chest. Even in some of today’s most popular movies,
the actors are fitted with armor made of everything BUT steel (leather, plastic
PVC, rubber, latex, etc.). Leather is
lighter and therefore allows you to move quicker which is important in mock
combat and even the thickest piece allows for some movement that you don’t get
with its steel counterpart.

Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located on
Q: Why don’t you allow purchase right off your
site?
A: We don’t mass produce our items so every
order is a custom order. This cuts down
on the wait from when you order till the item arrives at your door. It also lets you get what you want and not be
limited to what we have in stock.
Q: How long is the wait to order armor?
A: All orders are done on a “first come, first
served” basis. So it all depends on the
amount of orders we have already and what the item is that you are requesting.
Q: Can you make armor to my own specifications?
A: Yes.
After we receive a request for an item we will follow up with additional
information we need to complete your request.
Q: What is carving and tooling? How are they done?
A: Carving and tooling leather is the process by
which almost any image can be cut into leather. First an image is chosen and carved into the
leather with a special knife. Then a
series of tools are used to give the image depth and a 3D appearance. Carved images tend to be superior to embossed
images because the image is cut into the leather whereas embossed images are
just stamped into the leather.
Q: Do you have any suggestions for custom
ordering?
A: Here are five basic steps you could use to
help decide what you want:
1. Decide what shape/style of armor you
want (i.e. I want bracers that are gothic shaped).
2. Determine the thickness of leather you
require (thicker leather offers more protection but is also more rigid).
3. Would you like an image or border
carved/tooled into the leather? If so,
can you provide a photo of the image?
4. What colors do you want the
image/border and background?
5. Would you like brass or nickel hardware
(buckles, eyelets and rivets)?
Q: How do I pay for the items I order?
A: We accept all major credit cards through
PayPal. We also accept international
money orders (if they are negotiable in the
